6063A – T6 Extrusions

6063A – T6 Extrusions

Aluminium alloy 6063A is a higher-strength variation of alloy 6063. It retains the excellent surface finish and high anodising capability of 6063 while offering improved mechanical strength, making it suitable for more demanding structural and transport applications.

APPLICATIONS

  • Alloy 6063A is used in the same applications as alloy 6063 and is additionally preferred for:
  • • Road transport components
  • • Rail transport systems
  • • Extreme sports equipment

Aluminium Alloy 6063

Aluminium alloy 6063 is a medium-strength alloy, commonly referred to as an architectural alloy. It is widely used for intricate and complex extrusions.

  • Key Characteristics
  • • Good surface finish
  • • High corrosion resistance
  • • Excellent weldability
  • • Easy anodising
  • The alloy is most commonly supplied in the T6 temper. When supplied in the T4 temper, it offers enhanced formability.

APPLICATIONS

6063 aluminium is typically used in:

  • • Architectural applications
  • • Extrusions
  • • Window frames
  • • Doors
  • • Shop fittings
  • • Irrigation tubing
  • In balustrading systems, rails and posts are generally supplied in T6 temper, while formed elbows and bends are produced in T4 temper. T4 temper 6063 aluminium is also increasingly used in hydroformed tube chassis applications.
